Product bundling is when you combine several items into a single SKU/price point in an effort to increase the average sale. Bundling can also clear out slow movers or excess seasonal merchandise.

Here are six strategies to make sure your bundles serve your purposes…

Bundling Strategies:

  1. Bundle Complementary Products - A few simple ideas are fancy matches with a candle, pens with stationery and journals, scarf with a sweater, socks with gloves, ornament with a holiday scented candle, tea towel with a kitchen gadget and dip mix, a book with tea/coffee. You get the idea.

    .

  2. If you overbought/undersold Christmas ornaments, you can always use a ribbon to attach an ornament to most any item as a bundled/add-on. (Discount the ornament in this case, as you likely have them on sale if they have not sold by now, anyway.)

  3. Create bundles with varying price points AND varying configurations, so you have something for all gift purchasers.
