When a customer enters your store, you want them to feel welcome. When they leave, you want them to feel seen, appreciated, satisfied with their purchases and planning to return! 1. Reinforce the purchase by reminding the customer that they achieved what they wanted, by coming into your store.

Examples:

  • I’m so glad you found jewelry to match your outfit.

  • I know your grandson is going to love that book.

  • I’m delighted we had the components in stock for your project.

  • I’m pleased you came back to get the matching handbag.

  • I’m so happy we had so many gift ideas for your mother-in-law.

  • I hope you’ll tag us if you post a picture of your new pillows on social media. I’d love to see how they look in your room.

  1. If the customer is a regular, thank them by name as they head for the door.
