I frequently capture screenshots of social media posts that include interesting retail events as I constantly get asked for event ideas. This past week or so was especially interesting so I decided to create a retail tips newsletter post sharing some of my favorites happening this weekend and later this month. I hope you get some inspiration from these clever retailers!
Early in the month, Liz from Graphic Poetry Stationery Shop posted an image with all of their April events including the DIY Paper Flower Workshop posted above.
I really love this idea of a single social media post with the calendar dates on it, followed up with specific posts about each event and reminders, of course.
I also love that she has a Stationery Club with meetups that include letter writing events and a card swap. Fun! (I wish I lived closer.)
Here’s a fun idea that reminds me of the permanent jewelry pop-up-in-store trend of late…
At Rust and Ruffles in Tennessee, they are partnering with Lucky Locks for a Hair Sparkle event. This event idea was new to me, but then I saw that Curate in Colorado is holding a sparkly strands event this weekend, too!
Curate is partnering with Colorado Fairy Hair for an in-store sparkly strands event this Sunday. Events like this are ideal for many different types of stores since the idea is to partner with someone in the area that provides the service. By doing so, you get their customers in, plus your own, and new customers who are interested in the service and not necessarily familiar with your shop.
Read on for fun ideas involving plants, customized shoes, a last-minute Earth Day idea and a really fun spur-of-the-moment sale idea to use anytime. (Also, I hope you know that Earth Day events are relevant ALL month, not just on Earth Day, which is Mon., 4/22/24.)
Earth Day Resale Event:
Muse Apparel in Phoenix is having their third annual Earth Day resale event on 4/20. It’s an opportunity to shop gently used clothes and accessories. (I wrote about this concept in January, read it HERE.)
