Display Tips for Winter & New Years:
and last-minute Christmas display ideas, too.
I have a few easy-to-implement last-minute display ideas for Holiday season 2024. Thanks to those who responded to my social media post about whether you still need holiday ideas. I think those of you who asked for New Years & winter store window ideas will find this post particularly inspirational.
You can’t go wrong with silver and sparkles for holiday window accents. It’s a favorite of mine because it’s a simple transition to a New Year’s or winter window right after December 25.
The gold and white snowflake wreath in the holiday store window of Stripe (above) could easily transition to a New Year’s window with the addition of a sparkly dress or merchandise and the numbers 2025 and maybe add a champagne bottle or a clock, too.
One of the most frequent questions I get asked this time of year is whether to do a winter window or simply jump straight to a Valentines theme. Keep reading for my thoughts on the matter, but first, here’s a fun idea for displaying gift cards at your register area:
Obviously, the idea pictured is intended for use as place cards at table settings, but I think it would catch customers’ attention if you displayed your store gift cards this way. (And rather than just one, consider some blue candy canes and a silver ribbon for Hanukkah, too.) Beyond gift cards, I love this idea for small in-store signage, too.
